ICAI to Revamp CA Curriculum with AI and Tech Integration Under CRET

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is set for a major overhaul of the Chartered Accountancy curriculum, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, and emerging technologies. ICAI President CA Prasanna Kumar D announced the reform in the ETEducation Reform Dialogue Series.

CRET to Drive Curriculum Reform
CRET will redesign the CA curriculum, practical training, exams, and soft skills across Foundation, Intermediate, and Final levels.
"Traditionally, curriculum reviews happened once in 10 years, but now we have shifted to a five-year cycle because of rapid technological changes," said CA Prasanna Kumar D.
AI Integration in the CA Course
AI will not be a standalone subject but a core capability across the curriculum, creating techno-savvy Chartered Accountants ready for data-driven roles.

ICAI is launching its first overseas campus placement initiative in the Middle East, where Indian CAs already work in Global Capability Centres (GCCs), MNC back-offices, and consulting firms.
