I cleared my foundation exam in May 2019. Gave inter attempt in 2021 May, didn't clear so gave it again in 2021 November, couldn't clear again. I want to try giving another attempt now in the month of May this year. I'm a little confused as to how to register now? Is my 2021 registration still valid?

Average Dividends

AFM

answered on 14-Jan-24 19:21

Dear sir, when dividends are declared every month 3%, 3%, 4%, 3% why are we doing average instead of adding them up ?

latest answer

We need to find out average dividend rate. Actually there are many ways to solve this. Geometric average, simple average etc This is how icai has solved - While i would not ideally solve it this way. I have just chosen to follow their solution because it is in grey zone

when asset is classified as HFS then only we can use carrying amt & FV -Cost to sell lower one, and subsequently valued at fv-cost to sell at each financial year ? this is right? sir

latest answer

If FV less cost to sell is higher than the carrying amount on date of designation as HFS, than you cannot state at higher value.

NCA HFS measured at carrying amt or fv-cost to sell which ever is lower, then why we revalued at fv and subsequently increased and valued at fv?

latest answer

realisable value of other assets like inventory will be determined as per that standard only.
