Beta is sensitivity of a stock or portfolio's return to market return. In this case we are computing 2 things 1. what is change in porfolio value considering change in market 2. what is new beta of porfolio since value and composition of portfolio has changed what is it that you have not understood

Change in portfolio value

AFM

answered on 13-Mar-24 20:18

Hi sir Nifty rises by 2℅, then change in portfolio should be Rs5000 *1.3* 2. Number 2 is multiplied to above because 1.3 is for 1℅ change in market (nifty), so for 2℅ change, multiply 5000*1.3 by 2. But solution Rs 5000*1.3*2%. Kindly clarify

Tax Rate for Domestic Companies

Direct Taxation

answered on 13-Mar-24 18:21

Hi sir, hope you're well. If the total turnover / gross receipts in PY 2021-22 is less than or equal to Rs. 400 crores, tax rate is 25%. My question is, would this condition be a permanent one for all subsequent PYs as well? For example a company's total turnover in PY 2021-22 is Rs. 200 crores, but its total turnover for PY 2023-24 is Rs. 600 crores, would the company's tax rate be 25% for AY 2024-25 also? Thanks

Hope you got it.

sir , if appropriation done by debtor then amount can be applied in time barred debts

latest answer

If the amount received from debtor, and debtor has not specified about the application of the amount on a specific debt, then check 1. If the amount is matching any particular debt. For ex:- Debts:- 1. 450/- [a time barred debt] 2. 300/- Received 300/- then, we have to adjust that payment to the second debt. 2. If no debt is matching the received amount then it is the choice of the creditor to settle the amount to a time barred debt.
