ITC common credit

Indirect Taxation

answered on 24-Sep-26 13:07

shop has paid an annual licence fee covering 12 months in a single payment. The GST input tax credit on this licence fee amounts to ₹12,00,000, and the entire ITC is reflected in the GSTR-2B and availed in one month of the financial year. The business is engaged in making both taxable and exempt supplies, so the ITC on the licence fee is treated as common credit. My query is: Should the common credit for Rule 42 calculation be considered as the entire ₹12,00,000 in the month in which the ITC is availed, or should it be spread over the 12-month licence period (i.e., ₹1,00,000 per month) while calculating the monthly reversal of common credit?

latest answer

It is taken in the month in which credit is availed

Sir, in Qn 8 we have already given probabilities of 60% and 40%. why we again calculate probability [Video Time Stamp: 25:37]

latest answer

The probabilities are probabilities of the investor, they are not risk neutral probabilities. Just like in PM chapter CAPM is ideal and actual is something else same way Risk neutral is per formula and 60 , 40 are those of the investor

115- Performance Obligation

Financial Reporting

answered on 16-Jul-26 16:54

Sir, in the example of V ltd- providing anti-virus software, it is said under the contract, to provide with update services. If the Customer can get the service from the market, that will be considered as a separate performance obligation right? Just mere contract does not make it a single performance obligation, as discussed in the previous examples. Kindly guide [Video Time Stamp: 04:00]

latest answer

Generally in case of updates for software, it is done by original software provider and we would not be able to purchase it separately. if the original vendor sells the update service separately, then it will be a separate PO.

Dividend not reinvested

AFM

answered on 16-Jul-26 22:30

Sir, Doubt 1: While explaining this assumption, you have taken dividend for 31-mar-16 as 16720(10*15%*11147.09 units)... but since we are not reinvesting the dividend , the number of units will remain constant right? so dividend has to be 10*15%*10869.57 units = 16304. Doubt 2: sir whether this sum can be solved by calculating yield for each year... like (dividend for y1+CG for Y1)/opening value for y1... similarly for 5 years and average it to get Return p.a%?
