Arbitrage on exchange rates
AFM
answered on 20-Jan-25 19:32
Sir, can We 1st convert USD to GBP, which gives 13million GBP [20million USD * 0.65]. Then converting GBP to INR, which gives ₹1288.9 million [13 million GBP * 99.1]. And now converting INR to USD, gives 20098283.93 USD [ ₹1288.9 million /64.1]. So that gain will be 98283.93 [20098283.93-20000000]. Is this computation is correct?

1/1.5530=0.644 whereas the q says 0.65 I would take rates that are more granular and detailed than rounded off Explained this in the video on the first few minutes

Voice is muffled in between the video :(
latest answer
Can you share a few timestamps, because it is ok on our side. At a couple of places, we did notice voice issue due to network bandwidth on faculty's side during the actual class, but we could understand what the faculty was speaking Wanted to check if those are the issues that you are also highlighting or something else

How is financial information used in accounting?
Accountancy
answered on 21-Jan-25 09:29
I'm trying to understand how financial information is utilized in accounting processes. Could you explain it's purpose and how it support decision making?

A clothing retailer orders 500 T-shirts from a supplier for ₹50,000. The supplier sends an invoice, which the retailer records as a purchase and an equivalent Accounts Payable (liability) entry for ₹50,000. The retailer sells the T-shirts for ₹80,000 total. This sale is recorded as an increase in Sales Revenue. This is how financial information is recorded. At the end there is a profit of 30,000 which can be computed by preparing financial statements. And based on this future decisions can be taken

Borrowing cost
Financial Reporting
answered on 21-Jan-25 09:43
So we can Capitalise the Borrowing cost so far capitalised * Capitalisation Rate But for this problem we havent done this way in the 3rd year
latest answer
Generally for debentures interest would be paid out. Hence not capitalised. Alternatively, we can take that assumption and capitalise as well.
