Direct Taxation

answered on 10-Oct-21 19:50

If that salary mentioned in attachment is received by non resident in normal savings bank account other than NRE ,then it is taxable?

latest answer

He wouldn't get his salary in NRE account if he works in India, NRE account is for NRIs having foreign income and such income is already taxed as per international laws, i.e why they are exempt as per Indian taxation laws. If he works in India he'd get Indian rupees, Tl;Dr Indian salary wouldn't be credited in NRE account.

Shd I remember names of case laws ?? If yes ,why ?? How will the questions be asked ?? For eg : gauridutt vs lalman Shukla

latest answer

Why - it helps in the reference to your case study answers. Also, sometimes case study question has facts similar to case law. But not very very necessary. You can remember the main ones, keep a separate list for them and write briefly topic they relate to.
