I am through direct entry. I am planning to go for newly started firm where i shall be the first article and principal is very kind and helpful So is this right choice?

Good, Its the place where we can learn each kind of work instead of getting specialisation in one. And more important who wants go for practice after becoming CA these type of firms are more helpful.
