answered on 04-Aug-25 16:28

Mr. X transferred a property for 10 lakhs. Stamp duty value of such property is 25 lakhs to Mr Y. Mr. Y is required to pay tax under income from other source U/s 56(2)(x) for an amount of 15 lakhs. If Mr X is a property dealer whether he is required to pay tax for an amount of 15 lakhs under the head, PGBP?

latest answer

For X, either 50C will apply or Section 43CA will apply. If it is asset then Section 50C will apply. If it is stock in trade then Section 43CA will apply. However, for recipient Section 56(2)(X) will apply always.

Sir in this question I have few doubts, please clarify it. 1)when calculating operating profit, we consider loss on rent on storage space (opportunity cost) but in npv calculation they only take profit after tax , they don't consider opportunity cost. Why sir? 2) in the question they maintain stock level 165 lakhs for 3 years and 4th year is nil but in npv calculation they don't consider for 2nd and 3rd and they consider in 4th year, but in 4th year instead of nil they consider 165 lakhs. 3) if idle time wages are reduced then the same has to be deducted right, but why don't they consider it sir?

Market refers to ?

Strategic Management

answered on 31-Jul-25 16:35

Sir. I have a small doubt. Could you please clarify — when we say 'market' in strategic management, is it defined based on the need of the customer or based on geographical location? I’m a bit confused between the two."

latest answer

In strategic management, the definition of “market” depends on the context. It could be based on customer or geography or online as well. When we refer to something like the market for quick commerce is huge - here it refers to potential. We operate in CA market - This is product view.

This MCQ was marked wrong. There was no explanation below for the concept. Is it right or wrong?

latest answer

Administration overheads are not included in inventory valuation because they are not directly related to the production or purchase of inventory items. These costs, such as salaries of management or office supplies, should be expensed separately and not included in the cost of goods sold. Including administration overheads in inventory calculations can artificially inflate the cost of goods sold and misrepresent the true cost of producing goods.
