*Since yield on similar type of debentures is 16 per cent, Why the company would be required to offer debentures at discount when the company issuing @ 15%

Instead of investing in this company the guy can invest in some other company and can get 16%. The company is issuing below the current yield of the market so they are issuing the debentures on a discount.

Should we always reduce dividend received from cost of purchase if the shares are purchased later and dividend is paid for earlier period? or should we reduce if and only mentioned in the question

Ref: Illustration 6 of investment accounting sum is silent about whether rights issue is utilized. but material solution has take n as if rights issue are subscribed and no assumptions are mentioned. In exam is it fine that we solve in either way or is there any hint to be taken from the question?

The stamp duty value exceeds 10% or 50k (whatever the case maybe) of the sale consideration, from the buyers point of view the difference is considered as income for sure...but I'm not sure in which head it's taxable, can you clarify the same?
