Calculation of Number of days
AFM
answered on 27-Nov-25 10:18
Sir, can you clarify when we should consider both start date & end date, and when we should include the start date and exclude the end date while considering the 365-day convention? [Video Time Stamp: 11:50]
latest answer
Always 365 days unless they specify otherwise. Start and end date - always include start date and not the end date

Sir, In the study material, they have compared the Market risk implicit with Portfolio Beta to conclude whether the portfolio is risker compared to market. They have considered dividend returns for computation of Market Beta (1.42). Which one we should follow in exams sir?

regarding important questions
AFM
answered on 24-Nov-25 20:43
Sir, I looked up the important questions for the January attempt, and the PDF shows 34 questions in the Interest Rate Risk Management chapter, but my study material has only 31 questions. So my concern is: have additional questions been added after the existing 31? In other words, the order of the original questions hasn’t been changed, right? Because if the order has changed, the important questions I’ve already marked in my study material will get completely mixed up.

Swaps
AFM
answered on 23-Nov-25 12:18
Sir, on 10/09 we have 1. Buy $ 50,000 @ 66.68 (which is execution of Back back transaction entered on 10/07, 2. Spot Sold of $ 50,000 @ 66.15 and on 12/09 we have 1. Buy $ 50,000 @ 66.32(which is the execution of an Optionally deliverable forward contract), 2. Spot sold of $ 50,000 @ 65.96. For the calculation of Swap, we have considered the 2nd transaction from 10/09 and the 1st transaction from 12/09, but why not the other two (buy and sell) transactions? I did not get the logic, sir. Please explain. [Video Time Stamp: 26:16]
