My steps to solve it 1. Calculate unsysyemetic risk 2.find systementic risk=total risk -unsystemetic risk 3.sysemtic risk= beta of portfolio sq.-std.deviatiom of market sq. And from this we get std.dev of market index... But in answer they calculate variance of sh. Individualy....why above method is not right ?

Computation of the potential loss
AFM
answered on 17-Aug-26 22:06
If the value of the bond at the beginning of the seventh year works out to Rs. 9,181, should we not discount this amount back to Year 1 to calculate the potential loss, since we are considering Rs. 10,923 as the cost of the bond? Whereas, as I understand it, in case if we are taking 10,000 as the cost of the bond, there would be no need to discount it, since both of the amounts relate to the same time. Kindly guide us.
