Understanding Permanent Exemption

The concept of Permanent Exemption (PE) allows candidates to retain exemptions beyond the initial three attempts. This provision is available under the New Scheme of Education and Training from July 2023 onwards.


Rules for Permanent Exemption

  1. Eligibility for PE:
    • Candidates must exhaust the initial three attempts with the exemption.
    • Can apply for PE through the SSP portal after the declaration of the third attempt’s results.
  2. Passing Criteria with PE:
    • Candidates must secure at least 50% in each remaining paper of the group to qualify.
  3. Surrender of PE:
    • Candidates can choose to surrender PE and reappear in the exempted paper(s).
